Sewing can be a very fun thing to do, but it can be frustrating as well. It’s something that requires patience and precision but the end result can be very satisfying. In fact, if you go talk to someone who just completed a quilting project, they’ll tell you all about how long it took them to complete the project but it was a lot of fun for them.
Quilting is a productive way to spend your time and you can even make some money off of it, when you’re good enough to take orders. There are two ways to achieve perfect quilting results; you can either have a very steady hand so you’re very careful with every fold and edge you have to stitch or you can use a tool that can ensure that your results are always neat and professional – the bias binding foot.
If you’re into quilting, this tool is a must have in your arsenal. If you haven’t used one before but you want those perfectly stitched corners, here are a few tips from I Love Quilting Forever that can make you quilt better.
Make sure that the screw on top is touching the fold at the centre. This way, the folded edge will be fed into the binding foot straight, ensuring neat results. You can use the scale on the bias binder foot to accurately find the centre.
Make sure that the edges of the binding are sitting on the guides at the top of the foot so that you don’t get any frayed edges.
Be patient. Your bias binding foot will make the job easier for you but you still have to be patient and precise for that perfect result you’re hoping for.
